Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory dermatosis which originally covers the middle part of the face. It is characterized by periods of remission and exacerbation. In the initial stage, a periodical erythema is observed. Later, ittransforms into a permanent one. Telangiectasias, pustules and papules appear in further stages of the dermatosis. Hypertrophy and fibrosis of sebaceous glands may occur in more severe cases. It might leadto limited hypertrophy (rhinophyma). In the treatment of rosacea, skin care is as significant as application of active ingredients.
