Scars

Scars are the fibrous connective tissue formed during the repair process after damage to skin or other tissues. The scar is characterized by reduced elasticity, lack of appendages, delicate epidermis susceptible to lesions and a colourdifferent from the skin around it.There are different types of scars: line scars which are the least visible and fastest healing scars, atrophic scars characteristic of acne or smallpox leaving cavities in the skin, hypertrophic scars are convex scars that do not exceed the injury site and keloids which are characterized byconvex tumours exceeding the boundaries of the injured skin.
